Goddamn, Sanderson is a talented writer. I had heard other people say that they preferred the first book in the series, and that the others weren’t quite as good so I didn’t have as high expectations going in with this one; but I loved it so much. Honestly I think I liked it more than book one (which is difficult, since the first book was so good).
The character arcs were just brilliant, and the plots are complex and well developed. Vin and Elend are fantastically written characters, it’s been wonderful seeing how they’ve both grown and matured over the two books, and I’m in love with their ragtag bunch of rebels. Sanderson also has a way of writing in twists and obstacles that I literally never see coming, making me feel dumb and impressed at the same time.
I can’t wait for the next book.
