Blue Light Hours by Bruna Dantas Lobato

4.0

Blue Light Hours follows a young Brazilian woman beginning her first year at college in Vermont. Her mother stays behind in Brazil and they regularly stay in touch through Skype. Before long, their lives diverge yet they always strive to maintain their connection despite being a world apart. This nostalgic and tender story is utterly gorgeous in its simplicity. A brilliant meditation on language, mother-daughter dynamics, and immigration that will tug on your heartstrings. Thank you so much @grove for my gifted copy.
