I’m definitely in my long-melodramatic-smutty-fantasy-series era, so of COURSE I picked up this book. I enjoyed it, and finished it really quickly. My only complaint is that it started somewhat slow and took awhile to pick up the pace. BUT, once it DID, I was all in. It’s clear that this is a somewhat jumbled together retelling of MULTIPLE fairytales, but I do love me a more modern, adult-level retelling of lore, so I’m not mad. If you loved this book, or if the slow-burn-complicated-interspecies-romance is your thing but the retelling aspect isn’t, might I also recommend the Fortuna Sworn series as well?
