First 1-2 chapters are really dense but important material so don’t feel discouraged. She has to lay a lot of groundwork to even begin. More so that other entires to this series (which so far I have only not read the Disability one).
If you are looking at this series do not start with this book because it is the hardest.
Overall excellent and thought provoking examinations of how indigenous history exists, it’s ties with militarism/imperialism, and the experience of non-native Americans in relation to indigenous.
To those complaining it isn’t the history of each group - no shit that would be impossible to put together in 300 pages and be coherent. Try putting the history of Europe in that time frame but times way more because there are less than 100 countries in that area at any given moment.
