Gravewater Lake is a psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish!
When I thought I had figured out where this book is going, it completely surprised me with a twist!
Told in a dual timeline, the past and present timeline had me constantly guessing the connection of the two timelines.
The amnesia trope can be a hit or miss for me, but the authors executed it very well.
They expertly combine the amnesia trope with themes of isolation, memory, and trust, which heightens the eerie atmosphere.
Following Anna’s journey as she tries to regain her memories and piece together the truth of what happened to her was thoroughly enjoyable.
The short chapters kept me flipping the pages even after I promised myself ‘just one more chapter’.
The ending was wrapped up quite nicely, although it felt slightly too far-fetched. It left me guessing about the main character’s final choice.
Overall, Gravewater Lake is a page turner, thrilling and addictive, constantly making me guess the direction of the plot!
This is my first book by these authors, and it won’t be the last. I’ve heard great things about their other works, so I will definitely keep an eye out for future books after this one.
I received an advanced review copy through Netgalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Huge thank you to the author and publisher!
