Trigger warnings: gun violence, blood, physical violence, stalking, endangerment of animals
I've read a few of Linda Howard's books in the past, and I've always enjoyed them so I figured this one would be much the same. Buuuuut it was long and - to be quite frank - pretty slow. Howard's books are usually billed as romantic suspense, and this was too. But unfortunately the suspense side of things was more or less left to the last, like, 10% and by that point it was almost too little too late.
The romance was...fine, although he was far too much of an alpha male dickhead for my liking. The MVP here was the dog. Not even joking.
