This was a fun little book. It follows a human woman, who is sent to marry one of the Kai race; both peoples find the other odd and ugly, but the two slowly grow to care for one another.
I had a good time reading this! It’s not the most complex fantasy story, but there was some good action and a great little romance to hurry it along. Short and sweet, this book chugged right along and kept me engaged the whole time. I loved the dynamic between the two leads, the constant insults and disgust at the other’s appearance in the beginning, which slowly morphed into genuine love. I dig it!
