The Catcher In The Rye is definitely a memorable read for me. The most impactful element was the sheer amount of empathy and feeling it elicited in me. I found the whole journey to be full of all sorts of paradoxical emotions.
Throughout Holden's meander around New York I laughed - sometimes with Holden, sometimes AT him - I was frustrated and then I was sad, but I ultimately left the book with a deep sense of pity for childhood and innocence lost.
