The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien
2.0
I feel so bad giving such a low rating, but this was semi painful at some points.
The names were VERY similar at times and it made it confusing and hard to follow for me.
It was interesting, but this reads like a heavy history book more so than a fantasy world story. (which I should have expected and is a me problem)
The last 20%ish started getting into characters I recognized from LOTR and this made it more enjoyable to me.
things I learned:
*spoilers*
I didn't realize Galadriel is essentially the oldest elf in middle earth, and the closest to the gods, so that was a nice tidbid take away.
The whole part about the Numenorians was very interesting. The whole line is essentially "half elf" in the sense that Elrond's brother chose man over his kin allowing them to have a longer lifespan.
