Thrum is something quite different from what I usually read, but the premise intrigued me so much that I had to give it a try.

It wasn't as intense or scary as I expected, which might be disappointing for some readers looking for a more chilling experience. However, the story was still very captivating, keeping me hooked and guessing until the very end. I was desperate to figure out what Dorian really was and what his true motivations were.

This is where the novella didn't quite meet my expectations. While I understand that some things are intentionally left open-ended, I found myself wanting more details. I'm not even sure I fully grasped the ending, and that left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied. The revelation that Ami was the one who killed her crew because she fell in love with Dorian, lost her mind, and wanted to stay with him, was both a surprising plot twist and underwhelming at the same time.

It felt like it could have been developed further or explored in a deeper way.
