Content Warnings: panic attacks, anxiety, addiction
If you're looking for a story centred on family and what it feels like to belong, then this is the book for you! I'm not very knowledgeable on astrology and divination so this was a fun way to dive into it. Alongside Stella, we learn more about everything like astrology, Tarot cards, to palm readings, crystals, and more. There's even a section at the back which explains each topic in more detail. There was a lot of character growth from Stella as she navigates this new and stressful situation of her father's new fiancée as well as her mother's addiction. However, I would have liked to see more growth from the side characters, like Stella's brother and soon-to-be stepsister. Stella has anxiety which I think is very well represented in this book. She also has a support dog Pog which was very cute. In addition to personal growth, we also explore what it means to be a family and how communication is important for every kind of relationship. I'd recommend North of Supernova to readers interested in fortune-telling and astrology!
