Holy Jesus Christ.
Listen; no one is going to beat Adam and Noah for me. They’re just god-tier. But I was NOT expecting to love Atticus and Jericho as much as I did. Or for them to surpass August and Lucas.
I love me a grumpy grump, so I’ve been half in love with Atticus from the beginning. But I wasn’t sure about Jericho at first. This book was a completely different dynamic from the first two of the series. Instead of the Mulvaney being obsessed first, it was the other guy. Honestly I was in tears laughing when Atticus likened himself to Noah and Lucas and how much he hated it, but it’s so true. He was the one being pursued and love-bombed, and I wound up loving it.
Jericho is so perfect, I absolutely adore him. He took one look at Atticus and said “that psychopath is mine” and I love that for him. AND THE SPICE?! God. Literally so hot I was sweating. The dirty talk from Jericho made me feel scandalized.
I really enjoyed the plot for this book too. I like when the Mulvaney boys get together and fight for their brother’s love interest. And I really, really loved that Jericho’s little crew was involved with everyone. The found family dynamics of this book are amazing. I just love all the characters so much, and every interaction just makes me more excited to read the rest of the books. I already know Avi and Felix’s book is going to be so freaking good. And I’m also dying to get to Thomas and Aiden’s book.
This series has been healing the gaping wound left from the Legacy of Gods series by Rina Kent. I’ve been chasing the high I felt reading that and these books are so close to that feeling. Just crossing my fingers that they keep being 4+ stars.
