Legion: The Many Lives of Stephen Leeds by Brandon Sanderson

4.0

This is three novellas put together into the complete story of Stephen Leeds, allegedly schizophrenic genius and wunderkind. He externalizes his abilities into hallucinations of people, each with their own personality and background, who act as his assistants and help him solve mysteries.

Essentially, he's an odd Sherlock Holmes surrounded by a crowd of extremely competent ghosts.

It's interesting. The rules of how Stephen Leeds' strange system works, and the weird cases he's brought to solve are the most fun part to me. I was invested the whole time, even though there are some hallucinations (one in particular) that have the particularly Sanderson-style annoying sense of humor.
