I still enjoyed this very much, just not as much as the other books. I'm interested in seeing these characters in future books, but I didn't have the same emotional investment as the Oraya and Raihn / Lilith and Vale. The lack of explanation of the threads was distracting to me, and I kept getting hung up on that. I liked seeing another part of this universe, though, especially since we haven't seen a whole lot of the other Houses. I would be interested in a Shadowborn standalone, too!
