Heartbreak Warfare by Kate Stewart, Heather M. Orgeron

“ Nothing is fare in Love or War”
I don’t know much about about the wars or the american army with their soldiers and doctors that have to live in that war because that is what they do for a living. It seems something from a movie most of the time when you don’t have a direct contact with this topic even if we hear or read about it in the news.
Love finds its way everywhere because no matter who you are or what you do,we are humans with feelings and beliefs and sometimes life is not what we expect or wish to be.
It’s a story about life and the decisions taken to overcome loss, depression, anxiety, PTSD mostly after a trauma that any person who took part in a war/deployment are going through and it’s not easy at all for nobody.
It’s a very intense read, it kept me wanting to know more and wishing not to end at some point.
I must admit that I cried and it’s the first time when i ever cried for a book, because the writers have this power with their words to create very specific graphics, it was too raw, to much angst and feels to real everything from the beginning to the end. I felt so much for each one of the characters, for Gavin who loved his wife so much and his forgiveness and support, for Katy that she had to go through so much and her anxiety and depression and love and loss of it and for Briggs for everything he had to feel as well, for the trauma they had to be part of and the decisions and time that were taken so that everything could be normal again.
I must say that I don’t agree with cheating but at some point in my life I understood that we all make mistakes and we’re not entitled to judge anybody’s life decisions as they are the ones who has to live with their past.
For me this book is in my top 3 books of the year.
