The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler
5.0
I have often enjoyed the noir genre for as long as I can remember. But, I feel like I have always enjoyed the later branches of noir, and never really experienced the actual roots of it. So, decided to get this book and dive in, and it is exactly what I was hoping for. Despite being from 1939, it does not feel outdated at all, and it is quite easy to fall right into the impeccable style. If you like anything remotely connected to film noir, then this will a must-read.
