I enjoyed the core storyline between Yadero ‘Yadi’ and Liberty, because who doesn’t love seeing a woman get genuinely spoiled by a man? But their individual storylines didn’t do it for me, because the book relied on unbelievable naivety to keep those conflicts going (i.e. Yadi vs. Rashad, Liberty vs. Lillian & Leah). The message about the power of found family was strong, but not enough to entice me to finish reading this series. There were also grammatical errors, and I disliked the male characters' treatment of women outside their circle.
