I quite enjoyed the first book as it happens but this one was so and I mean sooo much worse.
Our main heroine, Jessica, spends 70% of the book being obsessed with why her love interest, Alex, won't ask her to marry him. All during which she pays no attention to her supposed best friend who needs help..
Her constant whining is annoying beyond belief!!
We also have the mother of all insta-love! The "That escalated quickly" variety.
The only thing that tried to save the book was the villain, Cole. I really liked learning his story and reading his reasoning and thoughts. He was interesting and a complex personality, he had depth, unlike the main heroes..
And liked how he tried to make Jessica stop whining and man up, though I doubt he will succeed at this point.
Albeit this was not enough to save the book. It is a pity because it had potential.
