I'm in a few different book clubs, both on Discord and Geneva, and a lot of them pick different books to read each month, and I've always wanted to participate in them, but I've been sucking at actually following through lately, so I've decided in February that my main reading goal is to actually read some of the picks! The Sexy Book Club over on Geneva picked The Grim Reaper's Lawyer as their month's main read. I honestly could not wait to pick it up because it looked and sounded amazing! This book just came out this past December, and I haven't seen anyone talk about it yet, and it definitely needs more love because it was AMAZING! It had a unique concept because we learned about this grim reaper company thing, and I was OBSESSED with it! It was so much fun seeing how it all worked like a company and all of the different levels within it. I'm obsessed when a book has a really good world-building, and I tend to get obsessed with the world, and that's what happened in this book. There is a romance in it, but I think it kind of takes a back burner. First, it does take forever to really happen between Aiden and Joyce, and I kind of liked the slow burn for this story because we got to learn about this world and got to see the story play out. Then we saw all of the prep work for the trial and the actual trial happen, plus the crazy verdict, and I was just so obsessed with this book and how it was written. There were just so many concepts that kept going on that I didn't mind not seeing the romance happen right away. There were some really steamy moments once they finally got together. But I just loved all of the twists and turns that happened in this book, and I really cannot wait until the next book comes out. It is supposed to come out sometime this year, and I cannot wait!
