Greek Fire, Poison Arrows, and Scorpion Bombs: Unconventional Warfare in the Ancient World by Adrienne Mayor

challenging informative slow-paced

3.0

That was significantly more difficult to read than I thought it would be. There were many repetitions, I think that was why. There’s only so much you can read about fire. The devastations of fire on a battle was present in every chapter, regardless of the subject. Still an interesting read, but I didn’t enjoy myself as much as I did the other informative, nonfiction books, such as “Spice” or “Pest”. while it’s true that I thought “pest” was not written very well, I still enjoyed the book as a whole. This one? Not as much. It’s obvious that the author devoted her life to this book, but it was just too long.
