Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
5.0
Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin was one of my favorite books as a teenager and I’m actually still scared to reread it because I would be devastated if it didn’t hold up for 27-year-old-Mary. I had SUCH high expectations for this book. The Macbeth reference in the title? The Great Wave on the cover? The promise of another experience like I had with Ready Player One, which was SO surprisingly charming and engaging?? I was so excited and the book was hyped up by so many people that I felt like it was inevitable to be let down, but this is probably my favorite book of the year so far (miss Emily Henry’s book aside, of course). I loved these characters so much. I was heartbroken when this ended because I just wanted to know everything about them forever. It was so nice to love a book and a world like this again after the most underwhelming few reading months.
