I have a new favourite book, and it's beautiful, funny, and emotionally devastating, which I didn't expect from such a short book of letters. Being a real story, this chronicles the passage of time after the second world war and I grew to love these people through their letters. The ending absolutely broke me, and then finding out Charing Cross Road is now a McDonalds just wounded me further. I am a mess. Leave me be.
