russian literature is... special to say the least

i got this in french because i thought the translation might be better than in english (french being a richer language and all) and i can't testify to it, but it was at least enjoyable to read.
i bought it for the title novella, not knowing there were two others in it; i only really enjoyed the last one though lol
the writing is interesting though and now i want to read more by the author.
