At first, I was sad for Phoebe. Really f*cking sad.

But then, I was proud of Phoebe. Really f*cking proud.

This book could have gone a different direction and honestly, I didn’t know what to expect, especially after Phoebe reveals to Lila why she’s really at the Cornwall, but I’m glad it landed the way it did.

I found myself rooting for Phoebe throughout this, and mostly for her humanity. I found it incredibly moving to an extent how so many strangers from the Wedding People, as she called them, revealed so much of their life and secrets to Phoebe, this woman who literally saw no value in her own life at the start of the book. As the book progressed, Phoebe’s own sense of humanity and mortality becomes sharper and so does her will to live…and love for that matter, both romantically and for herself.

A great read.
