The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco

dark sad tense medium-paced
  • Strong character development? It's complicated
  • Loveable characters? No
  • Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? No

2.0

  • Spirit-haunting storyline that evolves into a travel  / exorcism quest. Borrows heavily from elements of Japanese folklore but not Own Voices.
  • Some interesting elements but unfortunately didn't give me the atmospheric spooks that I was expecting. There's a tad too much over-explanation for the rules of the lore.
  • I like that the driving character dynamics involves young cousins who are loyal to each other + a sort of reformed avenging ghost.
