Paint Our Song by Maia Kinley
3.0
"All I think about is you, it’s absurd."
A musician and an artist stop at the same gas station, never expecting to encounter one another.
A struggling Inn that is barely staying afloat.
A band on the brink of separating.
A chance meeting is what sparks it from the beginning.
Calvin & Mile are the sweetest together. Separately they are a mess.
The calm that they are to each other is what keeps them going.
Calvin is the black cat in this book and Miles is definitely the golden retriever in all the best ways.
These two together are a slow burn lovers dream come true and it just works and fits like a puzzle piece to the end.
The way these two come together is so special that it makes you wonder if they will then eventually it's right there and I was extremely happy.
Miles grief is loud but in its own way but also subdued so that no one knows that he struggles still even after it's been years and really when he gets that feeling it is hard to find his way back.
Calvin has been through it with his ex and bandmate to the point that he really doesn't see himself as anything but just there doing his job. He could easily be forgotten.
He couldn't be anymore wrong.
The journey you go on is both something to get lost in and hopeful.
This book was definitely a surprise and a welcome one at that.
This is my first by this author but not my last that is for sure.
I cannot wait for Chase and Gil cause that one might be worst than this one the pining.
