The Truth about Animals: Stoned Sloths, Lovelorn Hippos, and Other Tales from the Wild Side of Wildlife by Lucy Cooke
medium-paced
5.0
Despite the clickbait title, this is a really good read. Cooke knows her stuff and is a stellar communicator. The title is a little misleading–it’s actually more about all the myths we promoted, endorsed, revised, and completely fabricated along the way, from beavers biting off their testicles to throw at hunters to penguins being strict monogamists.
It’s a riot. I love humans and I love non-human animals.
