The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America by Erik Larson

5.0

Erik Larson is truly a captivating author and manages to weave history and humanity in a way that synthesizes the chronological with the contextual.

I bought the book because I have a penchant for true crime. What I found incredible is that the storylines about the World’s Fair were so compelling and lively in their telling that they were just as fascinating as any titillating crime moments.

This is a must read for fans of American history, true crime, or both.
