Overall the extreme number of descriptions and extended sentences took away from the story. It made the book feel more artistic and whimsical than most, but at the same time it weighed it down. I felt like it left me sitting there like,” I have no idea what I’m reading, but it’s a vibe.”
The last 30% was enjoyable though. I really enjoyed all the gothic, dark aspects of the story.
