This was such a cute, wholesome fantasy!
Straightforward, wholesome characters with just the right amount of bloodthirsty. Some action every now and then to keep things interesting. Some tension that was resolved in due time so it didn't get frustrating. The found family aspect was very strong in this one and I was here for it! Wasn't bogged down by info dumps, but still gave any info to not be totally lost in this world and some tidbits for the sequels to develop. The magic so far sounds both straightforward but interesting.
Just lighthearted fun all-around.
