The Red Deal: Indigenous Action to Save Our Earth by The Red Nation

challenging informative inspiring medium-paced

This is a must read! The book is short but packs an immense punch. The writing is accessible, I didn’t feel out of my depth but I also felt challenged to think in new ways. The book is clearly organized with recommendations, next steps, and historical examples of Indigenous resistance. I’m feeling incredibly inspired and think this should be on everyone’s shelves!

“There is no hope for restoring the planet’s fragile and dying ecosystems without Indigenous liberation. This is not an exaggeration. It’s the simple truth. Indigenous people understand the choice that confronts us: decolonization or extinction.” (108)
