Our Shadows Have Claws: 15 Latin American Monster Stories by Amparo Ortiz, Yamile Saied Méndez
3.0
What I Did Like:
+In every anthology, there’s one or two that stand out. In this collection, it’s Blood Stained Hands Like Yours and Sugary Deaths. They’re unique, emotional, and beautiful. They’re definitely new favorites!
+The different monsters are fascinating. Some have interesting back stories, some are familiar, some are entirely new. I enjoyed learning about them all!
+The art work and cover are very well done. They match the mood of the collection!
Who Should Read This One:
-Fans of monster stories, for sure.
-Remember the old Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark collections? If you were a fan of those, I’d recommend these. Similar in style but inspired by Latin American monsters, these deliver quick scares.
My Rating: 3 Stars
