3/31/24 update:
Re-read this because I wanted to annotate and it felt relevant after having just seen the Quiet On Set documentary. Having seen that documentary added more context that went unsaid in this memoir, especially when The Creator is massaging her. (Shudder.) The documentary also helped fill out some of the context that's outside of Jennette's scope, yet still relevant, like when The Creator is forced off set.
Original review:
I'm glad your mom died, too, Jennette.
I loved iCarly as a kid. It's horrifying to learn what was happening not just behind the scenes of the show with The Creator, but also in Jennette's own personal life. I'm so glad that she's healing and finally speaking up. I hope that other child stars that endured The Creator will one day follow suit. It sounds like there are many others.
