Dark Archives: A Librarian's Investigation Into the Science and History of Books Bound in Human Skin by Megan Rosenbloom

5.0

This book treats a morbid and lurid idea of skin bindings for books with such sensitivity and relevance. It really goes beyond the idea of books as objects but as human remains. I didn’t expect this to be such an in-depth look at medical history, consent, and ethics.

The author is also easy to read while still highly polished and erudite. A must-read for book lovers or those who have an interest in medical history.
