Better Than Revenge by Kasie West

emotional funny lighthearted mysterious

This was a cute ya sports romance.  The main characters are adorable together with their banter and pining.  Finley is stubborn, but also strong and determined.  It's clear she puts a lot of pressure on herself to succeed - and it's sad she lost soccer because of that.  Theo you can tell from pretty early on that he's just the sweetest jock that would do anything for Finley.  I didn't buy his big ego and flippant attitude towards her.  The ex was such an arrogant, intitled jerk - completely oblivious to those around him and how his actions would affect them.  And to push his friendship and presence on Finley made me want to slap the boy out of the house!  I wish we got to spend more time with Finley's friends though.
My favourite part had to be the podcast between Finley and her grandma.  She clearly had such an interesting life and it's so sad to see her lose her memories to dementia.  I could listen to their podcast forever and had me thinking of my own Grandma.
If you're a fan of sport romances or anything by Kasie West, then I highly recommend this.
