Archangel's War by Nalini Singh
3.0
I liked this book and I enjoyed having the world live on a little while longer. But it was not my favourite. At the start of this book I disliked Elena more than in any other book. I thought her arrogance and presumption that only she could understand if Raphael was going too far and dictate when certain powers should and should not be used laughable and frustrating. But I was able to warm up to her more by the end. It was also slow going and repeated a lot of 'memories' from other books. I understand these are immortal beings but such lack of growth or peace or 'getting over' of these memories made it seem lazy and stale. It really shined in its character descriptions, interactions and developments of Ilium, Izzy, Aodhan and The Legion. I hope this depth of character and world building is the concentration of the books going forward. To be able to see the rebuild from the ground up and re-establish the 'normal rules' will be interesting now that this arch with Lijuan is over.
