I’m having a tough time deciding what to write about this one. I was having a hard time getting in to it. Which is weird, because as a character, I love Aiden and his energy. And I really appreciated getting to see what he’s like when he’s not “on”. And I appreciated that Lennox is the only person he felt he could truly 100% be himself, including the dark times. And about those dark times - I really liked the way his depression was portrayed. With everything looking A-ok on the outside, but then not finding joy in the things you usually do, not wanting to get out of bed.

So, compared to the other books in the Langfield world, this one does deal with a heavier topic. But there’s lots of the expected fun banter, not only with the brothers but with the girl gang too. Aiden is so smitten with Lennox. I understood him well. However, there was something about Lennox that I still don’t feel like I knew her. At the 60% mark I thought I had her figured out and made a prediction. But I was wrong. The reason why Aiden and Lennox broke up after high school wasn’t what I thought it would be. Also - I would have LOVED a flashback or 2 of their teen romance.

I don’t feel like I can give this any more than 3.5 stars. I liked a lot of individual scenes, but I felt that it wasn’t necessarily cohesive all the way through. I love this world, and the teasers for the next few pairings. I’m very much looking forward to what’s next!
