Coming back to this series as an adult has been a treat. I still think this should be marketed to YA; the world/character building is beautiful but simple.
You can tell the authors chose to significantly pivot the storyline because there were some significant 'add-ons' that weren't in the first book.
It's a great pallet cleanser & quick read if you've been in a reading slump.
