Liliana's Invincible Summer: A Sister's Search for Justice by Cristina Rivera Garza

3.0

Important topic and unfortunately extremely relatable to my experiences, but the writing and overall choices of stuff included was not for me. I understand the point being made by including liliana’s journal entries and letters, I know it’s to humanize her and show us who she was… but it was waaay too much teenage banter to sit through. And also agree with another review saying that it felt a bit too personal and felt a bit intrusive… maybe she wouldn’t have wanted her every anxious teenage thought to be published worldwide… just sayin.
