This one just wasn’t for me. The characters fell flat for me and the time jump and perspective changes left me feeling like I was missing big chunks of story. I almost upped the stars for the depiction of Katrina at the end (I was less than 50miles from New Orleans when Katrina hit and the visuals from that time are solid memories I’ll have for the rest of my life) but even that fell flat at the end. Idk, I wanted to love this book. Turns out there’s a reason I’ve left it on my shelf for over a year.
