I enjoyed this book.
This is one of my first introduction to rom com type romance reads and... I would say it was a success.
I don't think I have ever actually laughed out loud as hard as I did reading this book. CORNBREAD NEEDS JUSTICE. (IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW). I feel like this book introduces heavy topics in a lighthearted manner without down playing the importance of them. Topics like sexuality, race, change in overall world "expectations". Forgive me, I cannot find the correct words to express how this book encompasses the overall world view of a lot of current issues in the world. We need more people like these characters in real world politics.

I loved the banter, the love, and the relationship between all of these characters. Also, I'm sorry but the emails/texts back and forth between Alex and Henry literally made my heart melt. It was SO CUTE. I could not handle it. The quotes, the jokes, the play on words, it was flawless. The support his mother gave and the lack there of from other characters. The wide variety of character personalities from Zhara's no bullshit mentality to Amy's bubbly happy go lucky attitude made the book seem that much more real.
This book flowed easily. The diction didn't feel forced even though it had a lot of slang and trend knowledge. I didn't make me cringe like some do when there is excessive cursing. It was overall done very well.

My only qualms with this book was pacing was alittle slow in the beginning and then felt kind of rushed at the end… AND i hate politics so much… so all the political talk was meh, but I went into this book expecting that and it really only dampened it slightly.

Def would recommend.
