While I didn’t like the killer as much as in The Butterfly Garden, the protagonist was simply gorgeously written. The story flips back and forth between points of view and time like the first book which I liked as well. Unfortunately, I was able to guess the killer early on but that was clear in the previous novel as well. We hang on to find out how the story resolves itself more than the identity of the monster being revealed.
