I want to read this book again for the first time and I can’t and I’m not okay with that!
The Dead Romantics follows Florence, a romance author who thinks love is dead and therefore is struggling to finish her now very much overdue new romance novel.
Tragedy strikes and she is forced to flee home to the town that drove her away 10 years ago. But she soon discovers a someone has followed her home, her once impatient editor, albeit very hot, but also very dead. So now it’s Florence job to help plan a funeral but to also help her swoon worthy ghost of an editor find peace. Or is he here to help her.
I loved this book, it was witty and fun yet got the heart strings plucked and tugged with some raw emotion. The Benji and Florence banter was perfect as was the cast of characters we met around her home town. I mean their mayor is a dog! A golden retriever, twice elected!
Think a town that’s somewhat out of Gilmore girls with the angst of ghost.
I managed to guess the plot twist early on but I think the author planned that with little hints along the way. And for once it wasn’t annoying but exciting.
So off you pop, go read it now! You won’t regret it.
