Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

This is still my favorite book. A villain that is hilarious and awful. Dry and sinister. A tour of American road trip throughout the foreigner’s eye. A story that is lighthearted, deeply grotesque, and intensely tragic all at once. What a terrible man and wonderful narrator is dear, disgusting, Humbert Humbert. The language in this books is some of the best I have ever read. And, the ultimate “anti-hero,” this guy makes you ask, “Can you ever root for someone you hate?”
