The Anti-Hero by Sara Cate
5.0
Adam is such a good broken boy. I loved his journey. He struggled. A lot. Sage was super cool and the even keeled rational voice he needed to help himself. And adams dad was such a piece of shit. Seriously, primo villain. Honestly? I related to Adam so much. Maybe not so much with the religion - but being raised to be a people pleaser without looking too deeply in to WHY.
I have to say this book surprised me in a good way. And I was also so very pleased that there was no true miscommunication trope. I was worried about something said during sage and truett’s first meeting coming back around to be the source of a third act break up - god I hate those. But it was like an anti- Chekhov gun. Not as damaging as it could have been.
