The Lion of Mars by Jennifer L. Holm
3.75
What was described in the description of the book is extremely misleading. This book is a cozy, whimsical one that focuses on the human need for connection. If you expect some epic sci-fi adventure with grim tones and high stakes, I'm sorry to tell to that you'll be disappointed.
This book is fun, though, and incredibly so. I liked the themes presented. The balance between kid-like language and regular tongue was surprisingly enjoying. I found myself loving each character and genuinely caring for them.
In sum, if you want a cozy and heartwarming middle grade book, this is one of your best bets.
