I can definitely see how that would be a weird family dynamic lmao As weird as that situation is/was/could be- I didn't love Maddie. I thought he was a little (alot) narccisistic. She was really, deep into her own shit and never really gave much thought to how she or her actions affected herself. Her therapist really had some work cut out for them.

Basically, his family sucked ass. They were awful. The ending honestly pissed me off.

I devoured this book.
I loved the dynamics, I loved the sort of suspense of it all. I loved the messaging between the two men. I loved the personalities and the depth they both had. I just didn't love how Maddie was a weird third in their relationship because nobody could just let it go.
