Frenemies by Emma Hart
5.0
When Emma Hart began concentrating solely on romantic comedies, she knew exactly what she was doing. Drawing from an seemingly endless well of creativity, she manages to offer up funny romantic stories again and again, and they just continue to get better. FRENEMIES, Emma's latest offering, is a delight from start to finish. I instantly adored Imogen and Mason and their second-chance love.
Immy may still be harboring the hurt that came with Mason having ghosted her after college, but that hasn't kept her from living a life that she loves. Sure, her Grandma Jen constantly needs watching, and she hasn't had a date in a while, but Immy wouldn't change a thing (well, maybe a little less of the extra with Grandma Jen...). When Mason and Maya, his little girl, move in next door, though, her calm life goes a little bit topsy-turvy.
Yes, Mason knows that he did Immy wrong all those years ago. But being in her space is stirring up all the memories of what they had, and helping him to realize that some wisdom and self-awareness has come with maturity, and he's not about to let Immy get away again. Convincing her that they deserve a second chance might be tough, but it's a feat that he's more than willing to take on.
Emma has a gift for writing feisty strong women, sexy yet accessible men, and little kids that will steal your heart. The added bonus of a no-holds-barred grandmother and her coterie of trouble-making friends make FRENEMIES a serious keeper. If this book isn't on your rom-com loving TBR, then it needs to be, and quickly, because NUMBER NEIGHBOR, the next standalone in this world, is just around the corner... ❤️
