Foxglove Summer by Ben Aaronovitch

4.0

I enjoyed this book as I have all the others in the series, although this one felt a little like an interlude, a little meander through the countryside rather than the full on London shenanigans we have seen previously. My favourite part of these books is that they take the supernatural and slap it into a modern, urban setting. It's partly the reason why I also like the television show Supernatural when I am generally not a fan of the subject matter at all. I think the reason I like this book (and probably why I like the show) is because it takes the rational police procedural and shoves some magic into it and I really think the juxtaposition works well.

There was also a super weird (and fairly hot) sex scene in this book which I also liked.
