There were a lot of individual aspects of this book that I really enjoyed. The atmosphere and writing was very nice and adequately haunting. I liked having the kind of sentient house and the ideas behind it. Opal and Arthur were good characters to follow and I enjoyed watching their relationship grow. I just wish all these parts that I liked came together a bit better. One of the main parts of this book is very repetitive on purpose and by the end I was just a bit bored of it. The ending wasn't very satisfying either, and it felt a little phoned in, like the author was just in a rush to get it done.
